Welcome to Wycliffe Bowls Club.

Founded in 1956, our first green was at the Follsain Wycliffe Foundary, sandwiched between the football pitch and the machine shop! Not too auspicious a start but since then, our club has had a long and illustrious history. Today we have our own purpose-built facility located on Hall Park, LE17 4LN and our offering goes way beyond ‘just lawn bowls’.

We have excellent facilities and qualified coaches, in both lawn bowls and pétanque, available to help you should you need guidance. Both these sports are played at all levels - (friendlies, club competitions, in local leagues, in County and National competitions) so there is a level to suit all.

In addition, we have a superb clubhouse, with a large function room, licensed bar and kitchen, where we hold such social events as ‘indoor short mat’ bowls, club meetings, indoor games evenings and bingo evenings. On occasion, our members combine to arrange group outings so there is plenty to be involved in. Today, we have members who are visually impaired, a teenage County Champion, several octogenarians and so no matter your age or ability, there is a welcome here for you; beginners in either or both sports would be especially welcome.

Please enjoy our website and all that it details – there are contact details further on if you wish to know more. We would be delighted to see you, as there is a wonderful opportunity to ‘play and socialise’.
